A new report from Ming-Chi Kuo (KGI Securities’ analyst) says that the successor of the iPhone 5 will experience production difficulties to ship towards the end of September. This is with supplies constrained until October or November. This new report is in line with recent reports stating that the suggested production of the iPhone 5S will start towards the end of the month for a ‘fall launch’. kuoreportiphone5s

The much-awaited and talked about iPhone 5S is expected to keep the same form factor as its successor, however it is said to come in with upgrades in the likes of higher MP camera, slow-motion video mode, and fingerprint sensor (according to rumours this is the reason behind the production delay).

Ming-Chi Kuo said: “We believe iPhone 5S will experience production difficulties among numerous components as well as assembly, as seen with iPhone 5 last year. The model will thus be available only in limited amounts following launch. We expect undersupply to improve in October or November.”

The analyst also believes that the low-cost iPhone (expected to be priced at $450 and $550) and the iPad 5 will launch earlier, likely towards the start of September.

In the last couple of weeks, we have been seeing images of plastic cased iPhones. The images also suggested that it will bear the similar form factor as the iPhone 5 and that it will land in different colours.

When it comes to being a reliable source of information, Ming-Chi Kuo is proven. His predictions over the last couple of years lines up with a couple of other reports filtered out over the last few months.
